You have some addictions which need to be resolved before you can have the successful romantic relationship that you desire.

The addiction may be your own or that of your partner. These addictions numb the pain but also diminish the capacity, openness and willingness to love another. This is very true if you bend over backwards to please your partner while their dependency has lessened their capacity for happiness. This is a no-win situation.
